Wilderness Tours

Eldhestar´s longer tours give every rider the opportunity to experience the diversity of the Icelandic horse. Every participant gets the chance to try between 10 and 15 different horses during one tour, which develops the participants´ skills as riders. In addition to this, our guests will experience how the Icelanders travelled around the country with a herd of loose horses in the old days.

Tours 18, 19 and 20 are recommended only for experienced riders. They are physically challenging and require stamina. However, they afford the participant an uniquely memorable adventure and an intimate experience with pristine nature in one of the last large wilderness areas of Europe.
