This is Eldhestar´s farm, Vellir, where we have developed our activities over the years. The activities combine pleasure, comfort and excitement in a way respecting nature. The farm is situated at Road No. 1, only a 30-minute drive from Reykjavik. This makes Vellir an easily reached farm in the midst of Iceland´s southwestern countryside.

We offer a variety of riding tours for the inexperienced as well as the experienced rider, for individuals and groups, all year round. In the summer we have up to 280 horses at the farm, and in winter around 60 horses. Eldhestar also offers horses for sale. We have horses suitable for everyone, beginners as well as more advanced riders.

Hótel Eldhestar is the comfortable and environmentally friendly choice for guests staying at the farm. Hótel Eldhestar was the first hotel in Iceland to receive the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. At Hótel Eldhestar we also arrange conferences and packages for incentive groups all year round. We also offer sleepingbag accommodation in our rustic garden cottages.

The nearby village of Hveragerði is a geothermal resort with excellent hiking paths and trekking trails, as well as good fishing and a well-known health spa. We offer pick-up service both for our guests staying at Eldhestar and for people staying in Reykjavik wishing to go on one of our riding tours.
